Clinical and Teaching Experience

As an avid sportsman, Warden’s clinical and teaching experience is primarily in sports medicine. He worked for a number of years in sports medicine clinics and provided physical therapy coverage for numerous amateur sporting teams in Australia. In addition, he has provided physical therapy services at many sporting events, including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and Australian University Games. As an instructor, Warden specializes in musculoskeletal injuries and their treatment, and he co-ordinates the Musculoskeletal Practice Pattern (P541 and P622) courses in the IU DPT program.

Research Interests

Research is a major component of Warden’s work, where he investigates normal and abnormal functioning of the musculoskeletal system. He has an interest in the response of the skeleton to mechanical stimuli. This includes studies into the generation and treatment of stress fractures, and the study of exercise as an intervention for osteoporosis. In addition, Warden has interests in the generation and treatment of ligament, tendon and cartilage injuries. For more information on current projects, click here.

Presentations and Publications

Dr Warden has made over 30 scientific presentations of his research at national and international conferences, and has over 50 peer-reviewed publications. For a list of Dr Warden’s publications, as indexed on Pubmed, click here.
