Education

Dr. Bayliss completed her Diploma of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand in 1992 and 1994 respectively.

She decided to pursue further education at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, Provo, Utah where she completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001 and gained her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2003.

Teaching Experience

Dr. Bayliss has been teaching with Indiana University in the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences since August of 2004. In the fall semester of 2004, she was a part-time lecturer in the following classes; Functional Anatomy & Clinical Biomechanics and Musculoskeletal Practice Patterns II. During 2005, she was an adjunct lecturer for Musculoskeletal Practice Patterns I and II. She began her fulltime appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy in August 2006. Her teaching responsibilities will include Psychosocial Dimensions of Physical Therapy Practice (P643), Cardiopulmonary Practice Patterns (P524), Health Promotions and Service Learning (P680), and Musculoskeletal Practice Patterns I & II (P541 and P622).

Clinical Interests

Dr. Bayliss has been practicing clinically since 1992. She has worked in New Zealand, Great Britain and the United States. Her primary focus in recent years has been the development of her clinical skills in the treatment of patients with spinal dysfunction. She also has a strong interest in the utilization of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization for the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. She is employed part-time at the REBOUND Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine clinics in Bloomington, Indiana.

Professional

Dr. Bayliss is a current member of the APTA and the New Zealand Society of Physiotherapy. She is a certified McKenzie provider, gaining Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the Spine through the McKenzie Institute in 2005.

Presentations

Dr. Bayliss has performed numerous presentations during her professional career to clinicians, on topics such as Manual Therapy Techniques, Evidence-based Practice, McKenzie Method, and the Mentoring of students. She has also been active in her community by providing presentations on health and wellness topics to the community.

Outside Interests

In the summer, you are likely to find her on the golf course, and in the winter, she enjoys snow skiing. She also loves to jog, spend time with her dogs, and travel.
