Master of Physician Assistant Studies

The Master of Physician Assistant Studies program intended for individuals with prior experience (paid or volunteer) in a health related field and with a commitment to provide health care in underserved and rural communities. The program consists of seven (7) consecutive semesters over 27 months and includes 75 credit hours of didactic courses and 36 credit hours of clinical rotations for a total of 111 credits. Proposed start term is May 2013.

As of September 2010 the proposal for this program has been approved at the University level as well as the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Our next critical step is securing provisional accreditation. We are optimistic that we will have all components in place to ensure a successful provisional accreditation site visit in May 2012. If the program is not granted provisional accreditation, for any reason, we will not admit students. If the program gains provisional accreditation and does not obtain full accreditation enrolled students will not be negatively impacted. Provisional accreditation is an active accreditation status; therefore students would be eligible to sit for the PANCE exam.

Please read the FAQ for program and admission details available at this time.

We are collecting contact information from those who may be interested in beginning this program, proposed for 2013. Please feel free to share your full name, email, and comments at the Contact Us tab on the SHRS home page tool bar and we will share updates as they become available.
